Privacy-Enhancing Design, the Anti-Dark Patterns Framework

About the live training:

In this interactive training, participants will learn about dark patterns, how they affect user privacy, and what can be done to avoid them. By exploring examples and the latest reports, legislations, cases, and fines, the participants will be able to understand the impact UX has on privacy compliance, the current relevance of the topic, and the regulatory background around it.

At the core of the live training is learning to identify dark patterns and getting familiar with Privacy-Enhancing Design, a framework that helps tech teams build interfaces, features, and products focused on protecting user privacy. The live training also includes an interactive activity and a case study with the participants' company's features and/or UX interfaces.

This is a unique learning opportunity, as the content is based on Luiza Jarovsky's research and advocacy against dark patterns in privacy and in favor of privacy-enhancing design. This live training aims to empower tech professionals and legal departments with practical tools to identify dark patterns in privacy and revert them into user interfaces that respect user privacy, autonomy, and transparency.

Target audience:

  • Tech professionals - especially product managers, designers, marketers, and developers;

  • Privacy professionals;

  • Lawyers;

Duration: approximately 1 hour.

Format: live, in-company, or remote.
